Mission, Vision,
and Core Values
Mission
Jesus gave the Church, captial "C", a mission. We know it as the Great Commission, recorded for us in Matthew 28:18-20.
18 Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (NLT)
We are His church; therefore, this is our mission.
So, how are we going to go about fulfilling the Great Commission here at Hill City Assembly of God? That's where Vision comes in.
Vision
The vision is the how we are going to do our part in fulfilling the Great Commision at Hill City Assembly of God. The Vision that God gave us can be summed up simply in three words: Belong, Grow, Serve.
Belong, Find your place. Find your place, first and foremost in the family of God, by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross and resurrection and being adopted into His family. But also find your place in the local church.
Grow, Grow in your faith. No matter where you are on the journey, we endeavor to give you opportunity to grow in your faith.
Serve, Be equipped to make a difference. We seek to be a church that helps you be equipped to make a difference through discipleship and training.
7 Core Values
Community Matters: We know the difference community makes; that's why we strive to provide a welcoming environment to help you find your place. Romans 12:16; Ecclesiastes 4:9-12; Acts 2:44-47.
Building Families: We are a church that builds healthy and strong families, investing in the next generation. Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Proverbs 22:6; Joshua 24:15.
Room for Growth: We have not arrived--not as a church and not as individuals--so we are committed to discipleship, giving opportunities for growth, no matter where you are in your faith journey. Philippians 3:12-14; Colossians 2:6-7; 2 Peter 3:18.
Hearts of Gratitude: We seek to serve God in ways that bring Him glory as we generously give of our time, talent, and offerings. Luke 8:1-3; 2 Corinthians 8:1-5.
God's Word: The Bible is our foundation, providing us with truth, therefore, we endeavor to study and apply God's Word to both our spiritual life and everyday living. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:11; Matthew 7:24
Prayer is Essential: We are a church that believes in the power of prayer and that prayer is a conversation with God. Philippians 4:6-7; 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Colossians 4:2.
Wordship Passionately: We intentionally worship God in a safe and loving environment where the Spirit can move to inspire every person to encounter God. 1 Chronicles 13:8; Colossians 3:16-17; Psalm 100; 2 Samuel 6:14-23.
